I think Why do we have to be so practical? My father forbade me art classes in high school because I was so good at the sciences and math but I wanted to draw and paint and make things. Follow your talent and your temperament; no regrets. We are good at lots of things but the world can never have too many artists; they tell us the truth that often cannot be spoken.

I get told on a regular basis to “dumb down” by teachers because it doesn’t fit into the GCSE mark scheme. An original plot doesn’t get extra marks in a GCSE Fictional Piece. Or in History, you are only allowed to loosely mention facts and context.

I think Remember the story about the boy who shouted that “The King is Naked”?
That little boy was Sir Ken Robinson at age 6.
A man whose word should be heard far more often and in many more places.

It would be a loss not exploring what our real talent is. It’s a wonderful feeling to work without thinking: I’m working, to wake up each morning with a smile, impatient to share your skill with the world. The word “school” is rooted in Ancient Greek, and means “what you do in your free time, hobby, pleasure”

Our schools are made to kill creativity – or does anybody believe, that a creative person goes to any foreign counrty to kill some people, who never had harmed anybody?
